Q. Can I learn enough to be in the Business in a short time?
A. Yes. All our courses are designed to teach you the the Locksmith business as fast as possible.
Q. What Licenses do I need?
A.Each state has its own requirements. You need to contact the city you live in and apply for a Locksmith Business License. They will inform you of what your state might require, if anything. That's all there is to it. Some cities require a background investigation, and some do not. Some require a contractor's License, and some do not. Some require a State License as well as a Business License and/or certain Insurance requirements, and some do not. They are most concerned about your criminal history, licenses, fees, and taxes.
Q. What do I need to be able to purchase your Locksmith Courses?
A. Nothing. We sell teaching media and our expertise only.
Q. What will I need to purchase tools, such as Lock Picks.
A. Have a valid Business License. Take our courses and tell them you are a Locksmith-it's, just that simple! The name of a very good Locksmith-tool supplier, who will ship world-wide, is provided on the Inventory Tool and Supply List.
Q. How much money will I need and what is my income potential?
A. To begin, the investment can range from as little as $500.00 to as much as $4000.00. This is a hard question to answer. I can only share with you my personal experience. I started with $4000.00 which I used to build out my van and purchase tools and inventory, leaving virtually no operating capitol. I was still able to bring in over $3000.00 my first month in business. I have known other Locksmiths to start out with much less and still do very well. Your income potential is determined by your ability to market your business, not so much by how experienced a locksmith you are. I have seen just an ok Locksmith make upwards of $10,000.00 in a month. It really is all about good marketing, big accounts, and your willingness to give good service to your customers.
Q. What support do you offer?
A. We offer Free tech support, you may call us at 702-396-7353 for help between 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Saturday,
Pacific Standard Time. There is a first-class, professional locksmith available to you by phone to help you through the learning process. If you call before you purchase be sure to identify yourself as a "pick-a-lock prospect" and you will receive the help you need.
Q. What is the difference between Pick-a-Lock and other Locksmith Schools?
A. The Locksmith business is very hard to convey in a written text format. You need to see it being done. We at Pick-a-Lock have eliminated the lengthy jargon and have adopted a three-fold policy.
1. Show you on video how to do it.
2. Give you the phone support you need.
3. Give you the information on Inventory, Tools and Marketing.
Oh! another difference is we are about $3000.00 less. With us you may purchase all the materials, or only the courses you need. You are not required to buy everything. Our goal is your success!
Q. What is your Return and/or cancellation policy?
A. Because of the ease in which VHS and Video CD's can be copied, all sales are final. We do offer a replacement policy.
Q. Why become a Locksmith?
A. The locksmith business has been a real blessing in my life. I started out in this business when I was in my early twenties and at fifty-one it is as interesting today as it was when I first started. Here are some positive things I have found.
1. The locksmith business never fluctuates with the economy. If things are tight businesses lay off people and re-key, if the economy is good there will be a lot of expansion and the business will even be better. People are so security minded these days.
2. In the last thirty years I have never been out of work. I have always had more than I could handle.
3. I have always liked my freedom. What I mean is if I felt like taking my wife and boys to the lake on Thursday, I just forwarded my phone to my cell and set up my calls for the next day.
4. Maintenance engineers with a locksmith background will always earn a better income and have a better chance for promotion.
5. I have always liked the technical aspect of locksmithing. My wife always calls me Mr. Tool Time if you know what I mean. I like things that are small and mechanical.
6. There is nothing physical about locksmithing. I would rather use my head to earn money than my back. And at fifty one I can still work as hard as I did when I was twenty. The Locksmith business has the lowest overhead ratio of any business going, that is if you follow the parts list provided in this course.
These are great training videos. Everything one needs to get started. What amazes me is the free phone support provided with the purchase of a course. $600.00 is not a lot when one considers what this could do for you and your family!
